    Under the direct supervision of the Chicagoland General Manager, the Assistant General Manager is responsible for:

    • Assisting with the planning, motivating, and coordinating the activities of the management team at the dealership.
    • Proper execution of company policies and procedures by the dealership employees.
    • Developing and maintaining strong, effective working relationships with all current and potential CIT Trucks customers.
    • Setting a strong example of leadership for all employees.
    • Effectively communicating business issues and concerns to the executive management of CIT Trucks as they occur.
    • Focusing on customer growth and retention.
    • Creating an atmosphere of absolute excellence in customer satisfaction in order to assure CIT Trucks customers receive the level of service they deserve.
    • Participating with CIT Trucks Executive Management and Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM’s) to set and achieve annual sales quotas and dealer excellence standards.
    • Resolving, fairly and effectively, any customer complaints that department managers are unable to rectify.
    • All other duties as assigned. 


    • Minimum of high school education required. 
    • Bachelor’s degree in business related course of study is preferred.
    • Previous experience in the truck dealership industry is preferred.
    • Professional personal appearance and conduct.
    • Customer service-oriented attitude.
    • Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and achieve results through others.
    • Dedication to building long-term employee, customer and vendor relations.
    • Effective and efficient decision-making skills.
    • Excellent communication skills in person, on the telephone, and in writing.
    • Ability to read and comprehend management reports and financial information.
    • Computer experience including basic software applications (i.e. spreadsheets. word processing, e-mail, business system software, etc.).
    • Ability and initiative to gain sufficient knowledge required regarding truck equipment specifications and engineering of products and components to accurately and effectively meet the customer’s equipment needs.
    • Existing knowledge or ability to develop understanding of truck equipment values.
    • Excellent project and program management skills with ability to perform short and long-term planning.
    • Common business sense, reasoning ability, and solid mathematical skills.
    • Strong work ethic and desire to compete and succeed.
    • Commitment to do business honestly and with integrity.
    • Will be required to move about the dealership facility as well as the service and truck sales lots to communicate with employees and customers.
    • Travel outside the dealership facility will be required to meet with customers, key employees of CIT, vendors, and OEM personnel.
