Responsibilities

  • Delegate and schedule work appropriately throughout the department.
  • Develop, train, and coach employees on tasks such as selling, customer relations, policies, procedures, etc.
  • Monitor data, numbers, customer pricing, and quotas within the department.
  • Prospect and identify potential customers.
  • Build and maintain business relationships with vendors and customers.
  • Prepare, organize, and conduct annual physical inventory.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain proper processes in conjunction with the Company and manufactures.
  • Ensure department work is performed with efficiency, accuracy, high quality, and following all dealership standards.
  • Assess present and future needs, trends, problems and profit opportunities.
  • Review and appraise the results of activities within the department and take appropriate action as necessary.
  • Maintain appropriate communication within and between all departments within the company.
  • Promote safe work habits and ensure that safety rules are followed.
  • Develop employees and identify career advancement opportunities.
  • Advise direct reports on techniques and approaches through coaching, troubleshooting, or teaching practices.
  • Take corrective action when necessary by issuing credits, speaking with customers, and working with other departments to ensure alternative methods are available for the customers.
  • Maintain expenses, assets, and materials and take action as necessary.
  • Manage time effectively and efficiently.
  • Appraise employee performance through coachings, reviews, and evaluations as appropriate.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources to interview, screen, and hire employees.

Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years old
  • 3 years of related experience preferred
  • Prior management experience preferred
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 25 pounds
