    The primary responsibility of the Director of Used Truck Sales is to ensure the profitable operation of the Used Truck Sales Departments of CIT Trucks.  The Director fulfills this responsibility through the implementation of effective business planning, adherence to CIT Trucks policy and procedure, and strong employee and customer relations. The Director is responsible for attaining the dealership’s used truck sales quota, used truck gross profit margin objectives, used truck net income goals, and used truck inventory management goals. The Director will carry out these responsibilities in accordance with CIT Trucks’ annual business plan, financial budgets and guidelines, and established policies and procedures. The Director will effectively communicate business issues and concerns to the executive management of CIT Trucks as they occur. The Director must create an atmosphere of absolute excellence in customer satisfaction in order to ensure our customers receive the level of service they expect and deserve.


    • Manage the daily functions of the department including all Used Truck Regional Sales Managers, Sales Representatives, and Sales Administrative personnel.
    • Review market data and prepare annual sales plans with each Used Truck Regional Sales Manager in accordance to company policy.
    • Conduct periodic individual meetings with each Used Truck Regional Sales Manager to review progress.
    • Meet with the CFO and COO monthly to compare financial results with the annual forecast.
    • Develop and maintain good working relationships with customers, manufacturers, vendors and CIT Trucks personnel.
    • Review and approve training requests consistent with dealership goals and monitor effectiveness.
    • Prepares used truck inventory plan as part of the department’s annual business plan.
    • Maintain complete knowledge of all O.E.M. and industry product features, advantages, and benefits and impart that knowledge on a continual basis to the department employees.
    • Track used truck industry trends, used equipment values, and maintain an effective network of used truck industry buyers and sellers.
    • Responsible for the profitable valuation of all used truck inventory, whether acquired by trade or purchased outright.
    • Manage used truck reconditioning process in accordance to company policy.


    • Minimum of high school education
    • College degree in business and/or management or experience in the trucking industry preferred
    • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and direct others
    • Effective decision making and communication skills
    • Comprehension of management reports and financial information
    • Professional personal appearance
